Pictures of Our Weekend :)

I had this weekend off so we tried to do a lot with everyone. First, on Saturday I volunteered at the Grassmere Zoo for the annual Ice Day. I got paid since at my job we get 2 volunteer days a year, which is a nice bonus. After lots of ice cream, adoring little kids & their outfits, and playing a game of spot the cute pregnant ladies. It was fun and definitely something I will do again next year. I'm sad though because my little one couldn't make it to Ice Day. She, daddy, and her Uncle Spencer went to the Nashville Flea Market.

We had a small get together with a nice bonfire on Saturday night. Sorry for the grainy quality, I only had my Iphone with me at the time.
Sunday afternoon was a great end to our weekend. We traveled an hour away to the hubby's dad's house. It was a big family get together. I hate that we get so busy that we can't take a day to make the trip to Cadiz, KY. I made plans though to go back again this coming weekend.

After lots of burgers, smiles, laughter, and snuggles we had to leave for Koby to get to work. I definitely needed some caffeine on the way home. Two of my babies sleeping next to me made me just want to cuddle up and start counting sheep, it also didn't help that I took a nighttime allergy pill (I grabbed the wrong blue allergy pill on the way out the door that morning). If you have ever fought off nighttime medication then you deserve an award because it is not an easy feat.

Since munchkin was still down when we got home then I got a few minutes to work on Miss Raleigh's new mirror. One more coat & it'll be good to go! I'll post the progress soon.
Off to get some brackets for my crates then I can post that too. Gotta get my butt into gear.

Tired Tuesday

Boogers, headache, sick baby, & sore throat is not a good combo to start my "weekend". I get my 2 days of work in the middle of the week so it's like my weekend.

It's never fun to wake up 6 times in the middle of the night to a sick, snotty baby. Every mommy knows that feeling. You have to have all the meds ready to go in case some sickness happens. Ours just happen to spring up at 3am & at the same time. Weird thing is my hubby, who works nights, got hit with it too at the same time. So after a restless sleep me & the munchkin were only up for an hour before she wanted a nap & so did I. More meds & sleep were my best friends all day. We caught up on our old friend sleep, who evaded us most of the night. Time to get out & about. Maybe the fresh air will do us some good.

Chiropractor with daddy, which is always fun for her because the ladies there are in love with her, then pizza. Not the best remedy for a cold, but hey it was a craving. Plus the hubby hates Pizza Hut so when he can get PaPa John's he jumps on it.

Started on a few new projects too! YAY!
This one is almost done. This is for Miss Raleigh's first birthday, which is coming up waaayy too quick.  I'm going to do a rustic, shabby chic kind of theme. This banner is just brown kraft paper, scrapbook paper, & twine. Just like my summer banner. I have to still do the lettering though.

Then I got everything together for my new storage cabinets in my master bath. Soon to come on this beauty. She's going to be amazing.

Adding More Color to the Mason Jars

Hey everyone!

Hope yal had a great 4th! Holidays seem to come up so fast these days, so I am behind...AHH! I know I've been busy with work, Raleigh, cleaning & cleaning  wife stuff & having a cousin visit from Colorado (love you Haley); so I have been stretched a little thin these past few weeks. I have to start getting Ms Raleigh's first birthday stuff together because it'll be here before I know it.

I have been looking at Pintrest...again. I know, i know...scary thing seeing how much I post on there. I sit at my desk when it's slow at work finding things on there that inspire me. The other morning I found a new obsession: WASHI TAPE! It's pretty much glorified electrical tape, but much prettier. You can get almost any color & pattern.

I got good feedback on my summery mason jars, which I am still in love with, but the lids were poking me in the eyes with their shiny metal. I love stainless steel look don't get me wrong, but I wanted the lids to be just as colorful & fun as the jars themselves. I thought what better way to add that pop than with my new washi tape!

First, I wanted to spray paint the lids white so it'll stay with the light pastels for summer.
Once it dried I had to decide which tape & order to use. That was the hard part lol :) It only took an 1"or so of tape for every strip.

I have more colors coming in now so I might change them again every so often. I am gonna dress up my Kitchenaid mixer with them too.
